Fans of certain artists may have seen them posting their art with #白夜極光 on Twitter, which would lead them to a certain Twitter account with the Alchemy Stars handle. As of right now, there’s hardly any information on this project, which is currently slated for an apparent Summer 2021 release going by the Twitter bio. Nevertheless, the art style looks quite fetching, with two named characters shared on the Twitter, with other art in the hashtag from various artists who’ve done work in other smartphone games including Arknights, Honkai Impact and Azur Lane.
Judging by some sleuthing, an apparent recruitment drive went up on weibo back in March 2020, featuring a bunch of art and an alternate name, Star Chaser. Going by the image below, it would suggest that Tencent is also involved, likely in publishing the game.
We should be expecting it to be the typical hero collector gacha, though what game it is exactly is still unknown. There’ll be at the very least five factions we can expect, and zones to explore. One of the poster art on weibo has a “next winter” window, though presumably this will no longer be true. There’s still quite a while yet before the expected release window, but going by the cool art, Alchemy Stars / Star Chaser looks like a project worth keeping an eye on.
