On October 16, 2024, AirAsia launched a unique collaboration with SEGA, featuring a Sonic the Hedgehog-themed flight as part of their “The Colour of Connection” campaign. Furthermore, the special AirAsia flight D7 170 from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok showcased a Sonic the Hedgehog livery, bringing together the worlds of travel and gaming in an unprecedented manner.
AirAsia treated passengers on the flight to an immersive Sonic experience, including:
- Sonic-themed decorations and installations at the boarding gate
- Special Sonic keepsakes for all guests
- Exclusive in-flight menu items, such as “Sonic’s Golden Ring Cakes” and “Fizzy Iced Yuzu” drink (priced at MYR 13 per combo)
