Acer Expands the Chromebook Laptop Lineup with the Chromebook Plus 514

Acer is expanding its Chromebook Plus laptop lineup with a new 14-inch model in the form of Acer Chromebook Plus 514.

The Acer Chromebook Plus 514 (CB514-4H/T) is a laptop with performance in mind, compact and durable in design with AI-powered capabilities of ChromeOS.

Powered by an Intel Core i3-N305 processor and 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, the laptop is claimed to provide twice the speed, memory, and storage. The battery is also said to last up to 11 hours of usage on the fast-charging battery.

Onto the display, the laptop features a 14-inch Full HD display with an IPS panel, 300-nit brightness, and wide viewing angles. Furthermore, the display is available in touch and non-touch models, with an anti-glare coating.

Running on Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, the laptop’s 1080; webcam features Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR) for noise cancellation, with AI-powered tools that enhance clarity, lighting, and blur backgrounds.

Additionally, the webcam’s facial auto-exposure feature is able to adjust the exposure based on lighting conditions around the subject’s face, while the Blue Glass lens produces high-quality imagery even in low-light conditions.

There are no worries about privacy because the webcam can be closed with a physical shutter, or users can mute the dual microphones and turn off the camera with a single click. Adding onto audio is its dual upward-firing speakers with DTS Audio.

This new line will be sold in configurations with up to 512 GB of storage, as well as having a file sync feature to keep Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides accessible even without the internet.

Portable and Durable Design for Connectivity, Sustainability

Weighing only 1.43 kg (3.15 lb) and measuring 20.5 mm (0.81 inches) thick, the new Chromebook is U.S. MIL-STD 810H compliant, making it a durable laptop for daily wear and tear.

It can be connected to the latest devices with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, while its I/O ports support dual USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, which also support USB charging.

The new laptop will be available with Chrome Education Upgrade, helping administrators manage devices at scale, and will offer admin policies to help manage all Chromebook Plus features.

Designed with educators in mind, the laptop helps them access tools like Screencast, Adobe Express, and File Sync to enable offline productivity.

Administrators can also maximize productivity, streamline device usage, and easily deploy security configurations to ensure their school community remains safe from threats, as well as leverage Chrome Education Upgrade’s functional features such as zero-touch enrollment and 24/7 Google support.

For Business

For businesses, the new Chromebook Plus line is also available with Chrome Enterprise Upgrade, unlocking the built-in business capabilities of ChromeOS.

The Acer Chromebook Plus Enterprise 514 enables IT departments and the workforces they support to onboard quickly with zero-touch enrollment, stay productive with easy-to-manage device policies that simplify user experiences, and keep data and users safe with features like data controls and remote device wipe to prevent data leaks.

With 24/7 IT Admin support and ChromeOS troubleshooting assistance, managing updates, insight reports, and technical issues has also been made easier.
