During an interview with the Financial Times, Kenichiro Yoshida, the boss of Sony, said, “At this point, what I can say is it’s necessary to have a next-generation hardware.” However, is it a PlayStation 5? Since it is going to be the successor of the PlayStation 4. According to sources, the next-generation hardware may not represent a major departure from the PlayStation 4 with the fundamental architecture of the console will be similar. So is it a PlayStation 4 Pro Plus?
Not really, but the fact that other console making companies like Microsoft is also not hiding the fact that they are developing their next-gen console during E3 as mentioned by Phil Spencer. As currently, game streaming is the key feature that comes with the next-gen consoles as Microsoft just announced recently. Sony seems to be following suit as well as it was reported previously.
Though it’s hard to tell what hardware upgrades are we looking at that will carry the name of ‘next-generation’ console, but we’re pretty sure we will only be able to catch a glimpse of it in E3 2019. Or even earlier with leaks. 😀
