Not too long ago, developer D-techno announced that it was working on a game based on the upcoming third season of “A Certain Scientific Railgun”, going by the working title of A Certain Scientific Railgun: Spectrum Story. The game is scheduled to be out for the Android and iOS platforms, and the release date has yet to be revealed.
In A Certain Scientific Railgun: Spectrum Story, the game takes on the role of a protagonist in the Academy City who accidentally stumbles upon a terminal equipped with a mysterious system dubbed experiment. You make contact with Mikoto Misaka, electromaster and one of the very few Level-5 espers in Academy City.
We finally have the first glimpse of the gameplay, and for better or worse, it is very fanservice-centric. The core gameplay seems to involve conversing with Mikoto herself, and depending on the choices you make, you will either gain or lose friendship points.
Once you reach a certain friendship level, you will be able to unlock more dialogue options, and Mikoto will start texting you, so yeah, this looks to be a dating sim of sorts set in the A Certain Scientific Railgun universe, which isn’t a bad thing at all. This should be a good way to occupy your time until the anime starts again.
