Total Assault is a seasonal recurring game mode within Blue Archive, so here is a guide to help you do battle.
WHAT IS TOTAL ASSAULT?
Total Assault is the Raid game mode in Blue Archive, with bosses available in increasing difficulty. You will need to clear the previous difficulty before you unlock the next one. The first one for global, for example, features Binah, which has Heavy Armour. As you might expect, the higher the difficulty, the more rewards you can potentially earn.
You will be able to check a boss’ HP, defense type, level, terrain and skills before engaging. You have 3 daily attempts to challenge a boss. Later runs will include a leaderboard for more competitive players.
FIGHTING THE BOSS
Some future bosses can feature an initial phase that works like regular stages before moving into its next phase, or move around the map like Binah.
You can fill up a bar under a boss’ HP bar to “stagger” it, cancelling the skill activation and making it unable to attack. In order to fill the bar, you will need to hit its weakness, so for Binah’s Heavy Armour, you will want Piercing units. The boss also becomes vulnerable once the bar is filled, so hit it with all you got!
Not “staggering” the boss will allow it to unleash its deadly attacks, some of which aren’t necessarily avoidable and may instantly kill your units too.
TEAM FORMATION
As most are unlikely to have the best equipment or enough Eleph to promote units, Tanks and Healers can be more valuable early game. Buffers and debuffers can also shine here, besides units with more single-target focused skills.
Some recommendations for Piercing options for Binah:
- Iori / Junko
- Maki / Hasumi
- Pina
- Akane (Defense debuff) / Hoshino (Tank)
- Hibiki / Karin (DPS) / Serina (Healer)
- Kotama (Attack buffer)
You might prefer to NOT play on Auto, if you’d like to maximise your units’ effectiveness.
That’s it for the Total Assault guide, so good luck with the bosses that will arrive to Blue Archive!
