Streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anyshas been appointed the Chief Creative Officer for RTS, the company that co-owns the EVO fighting game tournament along with Sony.
While the connection is technically there, there has been no mention of Pokimane specifically focusing on EVO or the fighting game community.
Instead RTS exists to manage esports talents as a whole- helping them make the necessary connections to turn their hobby into a sustainable career.
“Our goal is to make creators lives easier & help companies integrate into gaming”, she said in a tweet announcing her appointment.
“I keep seeing amazing creators that are doing wonders with their content and streams, but they don’t have the support to grow their brand and business operations. They’re spinning their wheels on basic stuff and taking a lot of frustrating partnership deals that don’t work out for either party involved,” said Pokimane.
“I’ve gone through the wringer with these experiences, and we’re building RTS to be able to provide the support, alleviate the workload, and solve this for creators, developers, and brands. My goal is to take my years of experience and make it accessible to newer creators so they don’t need to go through the process I have endured.”
RTS and Sony acquired EVO earlier this year, breaking the announcement of EVO Online 2021 following last year’s cancelled edition of the online tournament, and following two years of no in-person EVO thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
