Apex Legends Mobile May See Localization in Different Languages in SouthEast Asia

Popular battle royale game Apex Legends Mobile may be seeing localization across the SouthEast Asia region.

In an interview for Gamescom Asia between GamerBrave’s own Sean Lim and Liam McClure, Head of Creative Strategy & Player Engagement Asia at Electronic Arts, McClure states that Apex Legends will “definitely” get localized into “different languages across SouthEast Asia”.

The interview in general spoke about Apex Legends in the Asian market and the importance of localization and connecting to different audiences in different regions.

“Localization obviously speaks to language in-game, whether it’d be menus, whether it’d be video but then also to the content as well and I think with the mobile space there are more opportunities for us to understand what content we can put together that will resonate within a region. Off the top of my head, if we had a game in India, perhaps we could create some festival-related content specific to India. It’s really understanding how we show up as a brand and that our players can see themselves in our titles” says Liam McClure

The interview goes on to talk about the influence of a Mobile port and how it could enhance the PC version, the game’s success in Asian markets like Japan, and even V-tubers (they even talk about events they’ve held with characters like Haru Shibuya).

So does this mean that we could see Apex Legends Mobile get a localization across Southeast Asia in languages like Malay, Thai, Filipino, and others? We have no proper confirmation so far but based on McClure’s words indefinitely on the table.

Apex Legends is available for PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
