UNTITLED MAGICAL GIRL, an original anime project announced March 2021, has revealed a planned mobile game release for 2022. Sparkleling Inc and Storytelling have been releasing various “acts” on their Youtube channel – with English subtitles available – as well as the latest announcement, which you can see below:
As of yet, the status of an actual anime project is not clearly defined, but we do at least know the people behind the work, which includes:
- Original Author: Jiro Ishii (428: Shibuya Scramble, Shin Sakura Wars The Animation)
- Creative Director: Shuji Sogabe of FiFS (God Eater, Idolmaster SideM)
- Main Character Designer: Kanako Nono of FiFS (Prince of Stride: Alternative)
- Music Producer: Yohei Kisara of Stray Cats (Azur Lane, Love Live!)
- Executive Producer: Yuta Hanazawa (Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru)
From the name itself, it’s very much a project revolving around magical girls, looking to invoke both the “classic” tropes and transformation sequences reminiscent of mainstay Sailor Moon, while implying a degree of subversive elements a la Madoka Magica. The mobile game itself looks to be dubbed JUNKETSU MAGICAL GIRLS, with UNTITLED MAGICAL GIRL as its subtitle.
There appears to be no other official channels besides their Youtube and Twitter at this time, so if you’d want to stay up to date, be sure to give either of those a follow.
