Konami runs its own ESports School which was advertised at Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2021. Here people can learn how to play video games on a professional level.
The school is called ‘The ESports School‘ and is located in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. It is a further education school, intended to be enrolled into after high school. Students are able to take full or part-time courses.
As the trailer says the game will not teach students how to get really good at big E-Sports video games like eFootball, Dota 2 and Fortnite but also with the business and marketing side of E-Sports like content creation and PR. It even teaches students English so that they may reach a wider player base.
Konami would go on to further advertise the ESports school at TGS as their entire live stream for both the conference and the YuGiOh Master Duel conference were streamed from inside of it.
The School will be enrolling new students at the start of the new Japanese school year although it’s not exactly cheap. Coaching twice a week is around 41,800 yen ($396/ RM1647) while a four-times-a-week business seminar is around 79,200 yen ($750/RM3121).
But hey with how big E-Sports are, if you like playing video games and live in Japan, maybe this is right for you.
