The Chinese client of Fate Grand Order has since removed various elements of the series’ interpretation of Wu Zetian, a historical figure often referred to as China’s only female emperor. The notice given on the game’s weibo page notes that her name has also been changed to “Assassin of the Nightless City”. The compensation given out was 10 Saint Quartz.
From various comments from Fate Grand Order players, Wu Zetian no longer has her second and third character sprites, her second, third and final Ascension art, and her voice lines are no longer in the game. Only her initial character art, sprite and her in-game skills have been left untouched. In the removed art’s places is the default gold card you get when you summon a Servant of that class / rarity, this case being the Assassin one.
However, as you can see, in the example below, there are still remnants of the removed art, which you can see in the smaller character icon.
As some would point out, there’s plenty of similarly wishfully clad characters, which presumably may be edited or removed in the future. Some characters have already experienced the so-called censorship, so players can probably assume more sweeping changes could follow.
