Digimon New Generation release date set for October 2021

Digimon New Generation, the upcoming mobile game also know as Digimon New Century, has set its release date to October next month in China. The specific release date for Digimon New Generation will be announced in the future.

The game is developed by Qixia Interactive Entertainment alongside Bandai Namco Shanghai and published by Tencent Games. It has been in development for over three years and features a new original story as well as iconic characters from the Digimon anime such as Taichi, Agumon and more.

In terms of gameplay, it is a gacha RPG with a unique branching evolution system. Battles take place with up to 5 Digimon on each side of the field as they take turns attacking and using skills. The game also has a visually impressive hub that rivals the graphics of Digimon console games such as Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.

While we hope that the game will get an English release, considering China’s recent stand on mobile games, the chance for a global version feels rather slim.
