Netmarble has opened their official Twitter account ahead of its eventual Japan release for Seven Knights 2. For fans of the series, Seven Knights 2 is also planned for a global release besides Japan, so we’ll just have to wait on news regarding the release dates. An Amazon gift card giveaway is now running for Japanese residents to kick off the account opening.
The game launched in South Korea late 2020, after missing its initial 2019 release window. In both art style and gameplay, the sequel to the original Seven Knights has undergone quite a massive departure. Developed in Unreal Engine 4, the game takes place 20 years after the first game, featuring both returning characters and new ones made for the game.
Seven Knights 2 is also a 3D MMORPG instead of the 2D plane turn-based RPG of the original. The story is part of the draw, of course. With 46 characters available at launch, you’ll have to pick the best four for your team, being able to control one character at a time and being able to swap out reminiscent of Genshin. You also have the option to choose between manual and auto play.
As an open world MMORPG, you’ll be able to encounter other players in the overworld. Story quests are limited to solo play with your party, but you can still communicate with the players you see. Boss raids will accommodate up to 8 players at a time, but if you want to play online multiplayer, you’ll only be able to pick your main and control one character. PvP features a 4 on 4 battle, for those who want to give that a shot.
