Netflix has released a special trailer for fans across Asia, offering another look at The Witcher Animated Movie. A new trailer for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, has been released with a Japanese dub. The anime prequel to The Witcher series will also feature a Japanese track by Japanese rock band ROTTENGRAFFTY.
The world of The Witcher expands in this animated movie origin story. It is a prequel taking place before the events of the Netflix TV series. Before Geralt, there was his mentor Vesemir – a young witcher who escaped a life of poverty to slay monsters. But when a strange new monster begins terrorising a politically fraught kingdom, Vesemir finds himself on a frightening adventure that forces him to confront the demons of his past.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is written and produced by Beau DeMayo and co-produced by The Witcher Showrunner and Executive Producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and Studio Mir’s Kwang Il Han, who is also directing. It is a collaboration between Netflix and South Korean animation house, Studio Mir who had previously worked on Avatar: The Last Airbender and Voltron.
The group doing the feature song in The Witcher, ROTTENGRAFFTY is a Japanese rock band from Kyoto who had previously performed the 10th ending theme song for Dragon Ball Super.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf premieres worldwide on 23 August 2021, only on Netflix! You can watch the English reveal trailer here.
