Mistwalker studios, founded by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, has announced that they will release Fantasian Part 2, the continuation of their mobile RPG Fantasian.
According to the studio, Fantasian Part 2 will release on August 14th on Apple Arcade.
According to 4Gamer, Part 2 will feature big changes compared to its predecessor. For one, the game will now have a quest system, and decisions you make in the game will impact your story going forward, unlike the more linear part 1.
You’ll also be able to rotate your party out at will, as well as do powerful EX attacks with each character.
Part 2 is expected to clock in at about 40-60 hours, with a fresh Fantasian save starting from part 1 expected to hit between 60-90 hours.
Fantasian is the Apple Arcade-exclusive RPG by Mistwalker studios, featuring 3D dioramas used for the game’s backgrounds. It features a story you should be familiar with if you’ve played any Final Fantasy games, with all the standard tropes like airships, evil Gods and sacred treasures.
It doesn’t just ride on Final Fantasy’s coattails, either, with its own unique combat system based on perspective and positioning, as well as a system that lets you skip most random encounters but pay them back at a later date.
