A new time-limited PvP Event will be coming to Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege called the Containment Event that will run from August 3rd to the 24th.
The event drops players into a reworked version of the consulate map that has been overrun by the Chimera Parasite in a new game mode called Nest Destruction. Rainbow Six Seige will also be free from August 13th to 15th and players will be able to earn twice as many battle pass points. More information can be found on the Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Seige Official Website.
It is inspired by the upcoming Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction and is meant to act as a first look into the world of Extraction within Rainbow Six. Here, a team of REACT agents (the attackers) will intervene to destroy nests which in turn is being defended by a team of Proteans. These are an Archean Variant that can take the form of REACT soldiers (the defenders).
The new mode introduced with this event is called Nest Destruction, where players will fight over a nest. Attackers will have a two-tier objective: destroy the nest to open a final objective and win the round. The defenders have more health and special abilities but no weapons meaning they’ll have to rely on melee attacks. Who will be victorious is up to you.
The Rainbow Six Seige Containment Event will come with 33 unique items for Rainbow Six Seige operators including IQ, Ace, Blackbeard, Amaru and Zero on the attacking side and Aruni, Jager Kaid, Mira and Warden on the defence. Customizable headgear, uniforms and skills will be in the collection. Each operator’s time-limited customization items are available for purchase as Bundles in the Shop section for 1680 R6 credits or via the Containment Packs for 300 R6 Credits or 12500 Renown.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Seige is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Google Stadia. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction will be released in January 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X (they’re Ubisoft games, it would be weirder if they weren’t on everything).
