The upcoming GI Joe Origins: Snake Eyes movie has shown off a new trailer, with lots of new information about the Joes’ enigmatic warrior.
The movie will tell the origins of everyone’s favorite GI Joe character Snake Eyes, in a typical “I didn’t want to join this fight but now I do” format as a young warrior dragged into a fight much bigger than him.
Naturally, the trailer also shows off Snake Eyes’ eternal rival, the Cobra ninja Storm Shadow. We also get a glimpse of GI Joe operative Scarlett, as well as Cobra fan-favorite Baroness.
Sadly, fans of Snake Eyes because of his cool look might not want to get their hopes up too high, as it looks like the character will be spending the majority of the movie outside of his trademark body suit and cool visor.
The movie is directed by Robert Schwentke, written by Evan Spiliotopoulos along with screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos and Anna Waterhouse & Joe Shrapnel. It stars Henry Golding, Andrew Koji, Úrsula Corberó, Samara Weaving, Haruka Abe, Takehiro Hira, Peter Mensah with Iko Uwais
The movie doesn’t have a release date yet, although fans can expect an IMAX release whenever the movie does release. No mention has been made of an earlier streaming-based release similar to movies like Godzilla Vs Kong.
