Xbox have announced the release date for Diablo II Resurrected, the ground-up remake for Diablo II.
A new trailer confirms the release date for Diablo II Resurrected, coming on 23rd September 2021. On top of that, they also showed several new features for the game, though whether or not they were exclusive to the Xbox version remains unclear.
For one, the game will feature cross-progression, although they didn’t elaborate if this meant you could pick up the game between PC and Console versions, or just that you could move freely between Xbox One and Series X versions of the game.
It also said the game would support up to 8-player co-op, twice the number of the previous entry, Diablo III. It’s unknown if the 8 players would be allowed to play locally, or if it would only support it via online co-op.
Diablo II Resurrected features a surprising amount of features for a remake, from the ability to switch graphics on the fly to straight-up having compatibility with the saves of your original copy of Diablo II.
While the game has had closed betas previously, this is the first we’d heard on a release date for the game. It joins Burning Crusade Classic as being a Blizzard game getting a release date within 3 months of its announcement.
