Netmarble has announced Ragnarok, a new story chapter coming to The Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross. It’s an all-new story coming to the mobile game, with new heroes based on Norse mythology.
‘Ragnarok’ is a wholly-original story made exclusively for the game that follows the heroes of The Seven Deadly Sins as they enter the world of Norse mythology and encounter new original heroes including Fenrir, Sigurd, Thonar, and Grimnir.
‘Ragnarok’s original story was planned ahead of the game’s launch and has been in production for more than two years in collaboration with Kodansha and the original author, Suzuki Nakaba. As such, the scale of the ‘Ragnarok’’story is equivalent to a full season of The Seven Deadly Sins anime, and new chapters will be available every other month along with existing story series.
The Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross is a mobile game based on the anime and manga of the same name. Launched in March of 2020, the game has passed 30 million downloads.
It’s not uncommon for mobile games to have epic stories- Fate/Grand Orders’ story is almost universally praised, to the point its different arcs were made into movies and OVAs, namely the Babylonia and Camelot arcs respectively. Granblue Fantasy’s main story also got a whole anime adaptation, starting from the start of the game’s story.
