Ragnarok Origin JP servers will go live in 28 June, and pre-registrations are now open through the Google Play and Apple App stores. A new trailer can also be seen below:
Ragnarok Origin is meant to be a “reboot” of the original, while containing many elements of the original for both new and old players to enjoy the game. The game’s story will be updated over time, preferably as more maps get added, with voiced narration and characters helping to immerse you in the story. There’ll be plenty of new characters, but familiar ones will also be making their appearances.
The JP release will come roughly a year since the Korean release of Ragnarok Origin, with updates for maps and jobs planned for every two to three months, among other things. We’ll have to see when the game would be available globally, which would hopefully be soon. For Southeast Asian fans of the Ragnarok IP, there’s Ragnarok X: Next Generation on the horizon that has pre-registrations open on its official website; there’s milestones going up to 2 million (!) pre-registered users, alongside real life prizes for registering your phone number, and additional rewards for inviting friends, so that’s something else you could look forward to.
