The Samurai Shodown Steam Release Date has just been announced, allowing fans to play the game without having to download the Epic Games Store.
Samurai Shodown will release on Steam June 14th, the same day as the latest addition to the game’s Season 3 pass, Shiro Tokisada Amakusa. The game will be sold in its regular release form, with the DLC Season passes sold separately.
Amakusa is one of the most iconic Samurai Shodown characters, frequently appearing as one of the series antagonists and being the titular character of Samurai Shodown IV. SNK haven’t shown off his gameplay yet, though fans can expect a trailer doing just that closer to the character’s release next month.
He marks the third entry in the game’s Season 3 DLC pass, alongside Cham Cham and Hibiki Takane. The only remaining character is the still-unannounced Guilty Gear crossover character, who also has no release date as of yet.
Samurai Shodown has a pretty wide net of console releases, being available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch as well as being one of the premiere fighting games on the Google Stadia alongside Power Rangers Battle For The Grid. The game released on PC as as an Epic Games Store timed exclusive, as well.
Despite its wide net though, the game does not currently support cross-play.
