After apparent hiccups, Trickster M gets a new launch date, with servers going live on 00:00 KST, 20 May 2021. It is the mobile version of the first Trickster Online on PC that had shuttered servers in 2014. Koreans will be able to play it on mobile and through NCsoft’s cross-play platform, PURPLE. Since pre-registrations opened late October 2020, the game’s achieved 5 million of them on 30 April. Pre-registrations remain open on the website, presumably until servers go live. A letter to fans was released, thanking them for their support.
Ahead of launch day, players can vote for a Community Manager of their choice for Trickster M, which will enter them into a lottery giveaway for a variety of rewards, separate from the pre-reg goodies.
Trickster M is said to be more focused on adventuring and open world. PVP has been expanded to include group battles and fights for drilling spots. As for the story, the mobile game will apparently be picking up where the original left off. The art style has mostly stayed the same for this release with regards to the sprite work, with additional effects.
We’ll have to see if the game will make it out of Korea like the first incarnation.
