Japanese horror game Fatal Frame is coming back as a Pachinko machine, marking the first new title for the series since 2014.
The Fatal Frame Pachinko has a new trailer up, showcasing the setup for the game, full of typical Fatal Frame flair.
The original Fatal Frame series had a very traditional Japanese aesthetic, and featured you using the Camera Obscura, a camera that could defeat spirits by taking photos of them. The photography element that makes up the series name didn’t appear to be in the trailer, although instead it looks like the game will be focusing on some sort of spooky slot machine.
Games As Pachinko
Konami bringing back all of their beloved franchises as Pachinko machines has been a meme in the community, especially after another series long overdue for a new entry, Silent Hill, got its own Pachinko machine.
Still, fans who think Pachinko-fying their biggest IPs is entirely unique to Konami would be wrong, as many other companies have done that as well. Guilty Gear has an important chunk of its lore locked away behind a Pachinko game, while Devil May Cry 5’s big twist was also actually first referenced in the Pachinko game based off of Devil May Cry 4 released years prior.
