First, it was DOTA with its Dragon’s Blood Netflix anime. Next, it will be League of Legends, with its own Netflix animated series, Arcane.
Arcane will premiere worldwide in fall later this year. For those who do not live in countries that experience seasons, that is between September to November. You can watch the announcement trailer for the upcoming Netflix series here:
According to Global President of Entertainment at Riot Games, Shauna Spenley:
“Arcane was created as a love letter to our players and fans, who have been asking us for more cinematic experiences that dive deeper into the worlds and champions in League of Legends. Netflix, with its incredible global brand and shared goal of delivering premium, high quality content, is the perfect partner to help us bring Arcane to players around the globe.”
While Riot Games is no stranger to giving animated shorts and cool cinematics to League of Legends fans, Arcane marks the first time the MOBA franchise is getting a full-fledged Netflix television production.
Riot Games will be developing and producing the Arcane in partnership with Fortiche Productions. For those who are unaware, Fortiche Productions animated the music video for K/DA – POP/STARS as well as other animated shorts for League of Legends.
