A listing for a fake Animal Crossing New Horizons game appeared on the Microsoft Store, shamelessly using the images from the real game. The name and the box art appear to be the only rip-off as gameplay screenshots and other details show that it is obviously a different title.
You can see the gameplay screenshots in the following tweet by Nintendeals:
Fake Animal Crossing New Horizons is $2.99 on the Microsoft store: https://t.co/9nBlbx26ie don't buy this pic.twitter.com/oCv75D0e6N

As highlighted by Nintendeals, do not buy the game. Not only does it rip off the title and images from the actual Switch game, gameplay screenshots also appear to be from another game, Animal Road. Animal Road is a free-to-play mobile game. You can download the game for free on the Google Play Store instead of paying $2.99 for Animal Crossing New Horizons on the Microsoft Store.
Furthermore, the developer of the game, HugoStudioLab also has other dubious titles listed on the Microsoft Store. These include Survival Free Fire Strike Wars, a rip-off of Garena Free Fire and Craft Imposter Among, a game that features characters from Among Us.
Unlike the fake Animal Crossing New Horizons, these two are free games. Nowadays, clones of popular IPs are everywhere, especially on the Play Store and App Store. Hopefully, Microsoft will double down on the fake titles on its storefront.
