Bushiroad has announced the release date for the Nintendo Switch version of BanG Dream, along with a teaser website for the upcoming title.
BanG Dream for Nintendo Switch has a release date of September 16th, 2021 in Japan. No word has been given on if the game would be coming to the West. It’ll be available both Digitally and Physically though, so fans who can read Japanese will likely be able to just play it on their Nintendo Switch regularly.
The game will be available for 7,678 Yen (RM289.72), though importing your own physical copy will definitely push up the price further.
BanG Dream is one of Bushiroad’s biggest franchises, getting its own themed cafe in Singapore as well as having multiple live concerts, and even animated movies. It focuses on several all-girl bands, who make up the game’s cast of collectible characters.
Girls Band Party, the mobile game the Switch one will be based off of released in 2017 in Japan, before getting a global release the following year. Considering Bushiroad is aware of the popularity of the franchise overseas, it makes sense to expect an English release of the Switch game as well.
More details on the game, including information on if it would continue to have microtransactions, will be released at a later date.
