You know what, gacha games are basically ever green content. This week in The Brave Room, the gang decide to address the elephant in the room- the addictive behavior behind Gacha games, and the fact that our attitudes towards them aren’t too different to other harmful things.
Naturally, we also get a little into Wan’s own gambling habits, specifically being drawn in by the thrill of it all. Kit continues to shill for Arknights and Granblue Fantasy, talking about the history of the Spark system and how that really changed Gacha games going forward.
There’s also a lot of talk about cigarette advertising, and why that guy smoking two packs probably already knows how bad it is for him, and why you probably shouldn’t bother reminding him anyways. Yeah, Wan manages to soapbox in this episode too, in another chapter of Wan’s therapy corner.
Of course, as always this is largely presented through the lens of Genshin Impact, and the gang even talks about how Genshin’s relatively more mainstream success was way more helpful in getting people to throw money at Zhongli (or Rosaria, in some people’s cases).
The Brave Room is Gamerbraves’ own podcast, hosted by “Wan” Amirul and Kit “Arknights wa warukunai yo ne” Chew. It’s available on Anchor, YouTube and Spotify.
