Digimon New Century Gives Us A Look At Some Of The Evolution Lines

Digimon New Century, the upcoming China-exclusive mobile game based on the Digimon IP, has revealed a new look at some of the evolution lines that will be present in the game.

The information comes from a Chinese Digimon group on Facebook, where one of the users had posted the pictures of various Fresh Digimon with greyed out pictures of all the possible Digimon lines.

Many of these lines seem to be the usual suspects of Digimon from Adventure 01, such as Agumon, Tentomon, and Palmon. However, as Digimon games are want to do, each Digimon’s evolutions branch out, with single Fresh Digimon having access to multiple lines as well.

Botamon

Arguably one of the most famous Fresh-stage Digimon, Botamon is most famous for digivolving into the Agumon line, although that’s far from its only use in Digimon New Century. From the screenshots it looks like you’ll be able to access classic 01 antagonist Ogremon, as well as Black Agumon and the Devimon lines.

An interesting note is that Mugendramon here is listed as an evolution of SkullGreymon, which follows after years of fan speculation that the Machine Digimon was related to the Greymon line since it looks like a full-robotic version of MetalGreymon.

Similarly Etemon and MetalEtemon are also in this line, another Digimon strongly associated with the Greymon line since Etemon was the catalyst for Taichi’s Greymon to evolve into MetalGreymon in the original Digimon Adventure 01.

Pabumon

Pabumon is unique in the revealed screenshots as the only Fresh-Stage Digimon with access to two trees based on the Digimon 01 protagonists. Pabumon can branch off into both the Tentomon line as well as the Biyomon line. On top of that, it also has access to another 01 villain, Puppetmon/Pinnochimon as one of its possible Mega forms.

Yuramon

The Fresh-stage for Palmon, Yuramon has a much smaller tree compared to some of the other Digimon we’ve seen so far. Notably it has access to the Palmon line, along with the newly shown evolution Ponchomon from the Digimon 01 anime. On top of that its other rookie branch gives players access to Andromon, another Digimon strongly associated with Digimon 01.

Mokumon

The only Digimon on the list with no ties to a protagonist Digimon from 01, Mokumon has arguably the smallest evolution tree out of those we’ve seen so far. It also has the honor of being the only Digimon to have a reference to Digimon Tamers in its evolution line, featuring Impmon and its evolution Beelzemon. Aside from that, it also has 01 antagonist Piedmon in its evolution tree.

These are all the Digimon New Century evolution lines we’ve gotten from the screenshots so far. There’s a lot of other Digimon in the trees as well, although the thumbnails are so small it can be hard to suss them out.

There’s currently no word on the release for Digimon New Century, though that may change after the Chinese version of the game comes out of beta and into a full release.
