Godzilla Singular Point Release Window Announced

Netflix has announced the English release for Godzilla Singular Point, the new Godzilla anime that’s already out in Japan.

While the anime aired in Japan on March 25th, Godzilla Singular Point will be getting an English release in June of 2021, available on Netflix. While it debuted on Netflix Japan on March 25th, the anime also got a TV release starting April 1st.

Delayed releases aren’t uncommon, as many anime tend to come to Netflix after it airs in Japan. These can range between anime like Kaguya-Sama or Attack On Titan, who get their episodes within the week of them airing to anime like Beastars, where the whole season dropped months later.

Godzilla Singular Point features an original story featuring the popular Kaiju, as well as the lesser known mecha Jet Jaguar from Godzilla Vs Megalon. In the new trailer they go over some of the plot of the anime, showing off more of the kaiju that will be appearing as well as some scenes of Jet Jaguar.

Godzilla is in the middle of a big cultural resurgence with the recent Monsterverse boom, bringing the creature back into the pop culture spotlight with Godzilla Vs Kong. It also recently returned to its political commentary routes with Shin Godzilla, directed by Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno.
