An anime based on popular mobile otome game Obey Me! is confirmed by developer NTT Solmare. It will release in summer 2021.
The official YouTube channel for Obey Me! first teased the anime adaptation with a video titled “Obey Me! Special Anime — Devildom Family Trip! (Official) Starring the Obey Me! Voice Cast”. You can watch the video here:
As the video aired on April Fools Day, it is natural to entertain the idea that an anime release was a joke. However, NTT Solmare doubled down on the announcement of the anime adaptation, confirming its legitimacy in a press release.
The developer further added:
The anime will depict the lively everyday lives of the demon brothers through special episodes separate from the game’s main story (Lessons).
The voice actors of the main cast from the game will reprise their roles in the anime. In addition, Colored Pencil Animation Japan will be in charge of animation.
Furthermore, before the release of the anime, the game’s cast will appear in a web series titled “Obey Me! The Boys in the House”. The web series will stream on YouTube, with its first episode premiering later this week on 9th April.
You can learn more about Obey Me! on the game’s website.
