Undawn announced by Tencent for Android and iOS

Tencent Games has just unveiled Undawn, its latest co-op post-apocalyptic action game which is to be coming out for the Android and iOS platforms. The premise of the game has humans banding together to fight off zombies while trying to survive the harsh environment and even each other. While it sounds like your run of the mill zombie game, do take note that it is being developed by the team behind PUBG Mobile, so if anything, it should be a satisfying entre in the crowded genre, even if nothing groundbreaking.

To make it as interesting as possible however, Undawn boasts RPG mechanics and an open-world environment, not unlike State of Decay. Being an open-world survival game, scavenging for items will be imperative for your survival, as is the intelligent use of limited resources. Crafting and upgrading your arsenal will also be important as you will need a steady cache of weapons to combat all sorts of threats. While you can play this solo, you do not have to, since the game actively encourages players to work and survive together. Only in a team will you be able to assigning each other tasks, such as building shelters and collecting resources. As such having allies will be key in staying alive as well.
