Capcom has announced the PC specs for Resident Evil Village, the newest Resident Evil game due out this May.
The specs were posted on the game’s Steam Page, where the game is now available for pre-purchase. Strangely enough, the page doesn’t mention the game’s storage requirements.
Here are the Resident Evil Village minimum PC specs.
- OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB VRAM / AMD Radeon RX 560 with 4GB VRAM
- DirectX: Version 12
- Additional Notes: Estimated performance (when set to Prioritize Performance): 1080p/60fps. ・Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes. ・NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT required to support ray tracing. System requirements subject to change during game development.
Most laptops should be able to run the game at the lowest setting, since it has the option to turn off the fancy features like Ray Tracing. According to the additional notes, even at the lowest setting it is possible to get the game running at 60fps, though expect that to change during more elaborate scenes.
On the opposite end of the spectrum though, here’s the recommended settings for the upcoming survival horror title.
- OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
- Processor: Intel Core i7 8700 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX 5700
- DirectX: Version 12
- Additional Notes: Estimated performance: 1080p/60fps ・Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes. ・NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT required to support ray tracing. System requirements subject to change during game development.
If you’re not using raytracing, Resident Evil Village has pretty generous requirements. Though the 16GB RAM is probably the biggest hurdle to get it running optimally, most of the other features are pretty common place among gaming laptops. so you should be able to get it running on any machine bought in the past 3 years.
