In an interview with Famitsu, Tetsuya Nomura stated that Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will have a chapter featuring Sephiroth in his youth. Twitter user @aitaikimochi graciously translated the interview to English.
Considering that Ever Crisis is a complete retelling of the Final Fantasy VII universe, Sephiroth will have his own chapter in the game. This will take place in his youth, before the formation of SOLDIER. According to Nomura, this chapter will be a “huge eye-catcher”. Furthermore, Kazushige Nojima, the writer for Final Fantasy VII, is the writer behind this chapter.
In addition, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will have new chapters every month. Players can select which available chapter they wish to play first. Currently, Nomura has not revealed the exact number of chapters that will make up the game’s story.
Besides that, the interview also revealed that Ever Crisis will feature a Command Style RPG system for its combat. Note that Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, which was originally a movie, will also be playable in this format.
Ever Crisis is a new mobile game announced earlier today, together with Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier and Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade. The First Soldier is a battle royale game that is also for mobile, while Remake: Intergrade is the long-awaited part II to last year’s Final Fantasy VII Remake.
