While your favorite 5-stars may never come home, you can at least enjoy a maxed constellation meal via a supposed Genshin Impact KFC Collaboration in China.
Genshin content creator Zeniet posted a photo of what appears to be a cross-promotional photo of Genshin Impact and KFC, featuring two not-quite Knights of Favonius serving the 11 Herbs and Spices as well as a fresh look.
“KFC collaborating with Genshin Impact. Offering limited time KFC Diluc Bucket and Wing skin”, the tweet reads.
While it’s easy to jump at the assumption they might be referring to in-game skins for the characters, it’s more likely that they’re referring to the fact that KFC buckets would be redecorated to reflect the collaboration, as is shown in the promo image.
The skepticism towards this possibly hinting at in-game skins isn’t unfounded – for Halloween last year Genshin Impact had also put out promotional art featuring characters in alternate outfits, although none of them made it into the game as a skin.
Still, skins are a good source of revenue for a game, considering they don’t have to be balanced like a new character.
KFC is no stranger to gaming cross-promotion, especially KFC China. In the past they had a real-life Raid to promote Final Fantasy XIV, in which players had to consume a meal for 4 to get a single Fat Chocobo mount in the game.
