The Mandalorian bounty hunter and Wonder Woman 1984 supervillain, Pedro Pascal will take on HBO’s The Last of Us as protagonist Joel Miller.
Pascal will be joining Bella Ramsey, who will star as Ellie. HBO will be reuniting the two stars as both Pascal and Ramsey have worked together on the set of Game of Thrones. The former played the role of Oberyn Martell, while the latter acted as Lyanna Mormont.
While Ramsey is a rising star, Pascal is practically a household name. The actor worked on many big-name films and TV series. Amongst the star-studded roles held underneath his belt include Din Djarin in The Mandalorian and Max Lord in Wonder Woman 1984. He also appeared in Kingsman: The Golden Circle as Agent Whiskey and as Javier Peña in the TV series Narcos.
In HBO’s The Last of Us TV series adaptation, Pedro Pascal will play Joel, the grief-stricken survivor and father figure to Ellie. In the earliest section of The Last of Us, Joel loses his only daughter, Sarah, when the cordyceps brain infection hit his hometown of Travis County, Texas. He would then go on to meet Ellie, whom he will form a powerful bond that will last throughout the game and into its sequel.
