The Kishibe Rohan OVA Release Date has been announced, ahead of the anime spinoff’s release on Netflix.
The four-part miniseries will stream on Netflix as part of their anime lineup February 18th, 2021. While the anime’s western release was announced several months back, this is the first the Kishibe Rohan OVA Release Date has been mentioned.
Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan features titular character Kishibe Rohan from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond Is Unbreakable. It takes place after the events of Part 4, and follows the events of the manga artist as he deals with the residents of Morioh.
The series isn’t a collection of elaborate Stand battles, so fans expecting to see more of Kishibe Rohan fighting off enemies should temper their expectations accordingly.
The series had released in Japan previously, though the release of the Kishibe Rohan OVA on Netflix will mark its first instance of being legally available for western denizens.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is in itself an anthology series, with each of its individual “parts” being largely self-contained although many of them take place in the same universe. Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan was a first in that rather than continue the trend, it’s an offshoot of Part 4, featuring one of the fan favorite characters of that part.
It’s far from the only time the mega franchise has done this, however. Part 5 has its own spinoffs, including Purple Haze Feedback, which also focuses on a character that was under-represented in the original anime.
