Kodansha’s smash-hit biology franchise has announced a new Cells At Work! Game, following the termination of its previous one.
The new game will be developed by NetEase Games, who also made the mobile game Identity V and co-developed Diablo Immortal.
Nothing else has been announced regarding the project, including whether or not it would focus on only the mainline Cells At Work series or include its spin-off, Cells At Work! Code Black.
The Cells At Work! Game was announced during the Joint Cells At Work! Station program, which aired on Sunday. The franchise will be having a second event in May, though Kodansha hasn’t confirmed that any more news about the upcoming game would be present during the May 23rd Joint Festival At Work! event.
The Cells At Work! franchise has had a life that can only be described as meteoric. Starting out as a humble manga about personified cells in 2015, it would later go on to get an anime. Since then, it’s gotten a spin-off, Cells At Work! Code Black, and it recently announced the end of the mainline manga with a special on Covid-19.
The manga is set to end January 21st, though the second season of the Cells At Work!! anime is currently airing.
