Honkai Impact 3rd Evangelion Collaboration Story Details Revealed

MiHoYo has revealed more story details for the upcoming Honkai Impact 3rd Evangelion collaboration, explaining exactly how everyone’s favorite Eva pilot ended up in the game.

They explained this via new background information regarding the event’s main quest, New Century.

Beginning with Mei setting foot in Nagazora, it tells the story of girls putting an end to the invasion of Angels. The 4th Angel, 6th Angel, and 8th Angel will appear as enemies and the iconic scenes from Neon Genesis Evangelion will be recreated with the latest technology. By playing relevant activities, players can obtain SP battlesuit Blazing Hope, the commemorative stigma of Misato, exclusive outfits, Crystals, and Supply Cards.

One of the other big tidbits dropped by MiHoYo is the addition of Evangelion-themes Stigmata, items that serve as stat bonuses for your character. These feature all the pilot ladies from the Evangelion Rebuild series such as Rei Ayanami, as well as newcomer Mari Makinami.

MiHoYo have been very gradually dripping out information regarding the Honkai Impact 3rd Evangelion Collaboration, with the story being the last missing piece of the puzzle. Since they previously appeared in the game’s Concept Trailer, it’s nice to finally have confirmation that the series Angels will actually be in-game enemies.
