Pokémon GO is now the most popular game, in the world, and because of that, devs in China and South Korea have tried to duplicate their own version of Pokémon GO. However, a small group of Chinese developers had their own idea: They copied the original Pokémon games and made it into a mobile game. The game is named Pokémon Rework and has recently been launched in China, and is already running up to 60 servers. Keep in mind though, that it is not a licensed IP.
The character designs are exactly the same as the X and Y versions. The gameplay however, is different from the original. So long as players are willing to throw in cash credits, they can get powerful Pokémon even at the start of the game. Pokémon are acquired through a ‘gacha’ system. There was even a limited time event where the player who spent the most cash credits was guaranteed a Mewtwo. There are a total of 251 Pokémon and 62 gyms to challenge in the game.
