After a brief wait since the game’s announcement in July, we finally know more details about the upcoming Otome game Paradigm Paradox.
The game will release for the Nintendo Switch in Japan next year in 2021, though no concrete date has been set. Instead, however, we know the game will retail for 6500 Yen (RM253.98), with a limited edition going for 8500 Yen (RM 332.11).
Paradigm Paradox is a visual novel-style Otome game, featuring gender-swapping, space colonies and the struggle of Heroes fighting off the villainous Vermin. In other words, it’s got plenty of the weird stuff that makes Visual Novels so popular.
The game’s summary doesn’t really go into the details of what being a hero has to do with the gender swapping, but that secret’s probably best saved for those who play the game.
This is the first of the game’s new details we’re seeing, as it was merely announced as part of a line-up of visual novels coming to the Nintendo Switch previously.
The game’s website also has art and profiles of all the characters, with the gender-shifting ones having their “second forms” still kept under wraps.
Visual Novels are quite popular on handheld consoles, due to their low hardware specs and many of them having minimal gameplay. The Switch has no shortage of the genre, with many even being available in the U.S store for the Nintendo Switch.
