Fans of the titular manga/anime series will be pleased to hear that The Quintessential Quintuplets game will release on 25th March 2021 in Japan.
Titled Gotōbun no Hanayome ~Natsu no Omoide mo Gotōbun~ (The Quintessential Quintuplets ~Summer Memories Also Come in Five~), the visual novel will feature Uesugi and the girls making new memories on a deserted island. The voice actors of the anime’s main cast will make a return, with familiar names like Inori Minase and Kana Hanazawa set to reprise their roles in the game.
The Nakano sisters will provide the vocals for the game’s opening song, Minami Kaze, (Southern Wind) and its ending song, Summer Days. Each quintuplet will feature in one of the five bonus drama CDs which comes with the limited-edition version of the visual novel.
Mages Inc. is at the helm of this new title. As the developer responsible for legendary visual novel Steins;Gate, players of the genre definitely have something to look forward to this March. Some of the staff at Mages, formerly known as 5pb., have also worked on Bravely Default. Those who owned a Nintendo 3DS ought to remember the title, which was GameSpot’s 3DS Game of the Year back in 2014.
As for the manga series, The Quintessential Quintuplets is the brainchild of Negi Haruba. Haruba and The Quintessential Quintuplets won best shōnen manga at the 43rd annual Kodansha Manga Awards.
The anime adaptation of the first season aired from January to March 2019. The second season of the anime will release very soon, with the first episode’s premiere set to release on 7th January 2021. If you have not watched the first season, you can get up to speed by watching it on Crunchyroll.
The Quintessential Quintuplets follow debt-ridden Fuutarou Uesugi, a prodigious high school student who has to tutor the Nakano quintuplets. This harem anime also has its own mobile game, which launched in October earlier this year.
