Shin Hokuto Musou, the mobile game based off of the iconic Fist of The North Star, is now available for download.
Though it’s only available in Japan, the game can still be accessed via sites like Tap.io. It’s a mobile adaptation of Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2, though the game has been modified to support touch screen controls.
Fans familiar with Japanese games would appreciate the word “Musou” in the game’s title, as that’s the title used in Japan for Koei Tecmo’s popular Dynasty Warriors series. True enough, the game will see you using iconic Fist of the North Star characters to plow through hordes of already-dead enemies.
Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 originally came out on the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012, marking the mobile game’s release unofficially a celebration of its 8th anniversary. The game also saw a WiiU release the following month in January, 2013.
The control scheme isn’t all that’s new, though. As a free-to-play title, Shin Hokuto Musou will have in-app purchases for players.
Fist of the North Star is one of the oldest manga around, following the adventures of Kenshiro. While largely considered a niche entry, the series has seen something of a cultural resurgence following the popularity of memes based on the anime, as well as a recent console game.
