The next-gen relaunch of Borderlands 3 is available now for Xbox Series X|S, with the PS5 version arriving with the console’s launch. The relaunch features several tiers, with the Ultimate Edition consisting of all currently released DLC.
The game’s next-gen release is accompanied by several special editions. Depending on your tier, your version of the game could come with one or both seasons of Borderlands 3 DLC, as well as golden guns skins for your Vault Hunter.
While these are great for players who haven’t bought the game and wish to catch up on all its content, those who already own the game on previous-gen won’t need to worry. 2K is offering a free upgrade for your game, allowing you to play the game on next-gen with your saves intact as long as you’re playing the game within the same console family.
These versions can also be purchased on current gen for players with no desire to update yet still want to catch up on all the currently released content.
Today also marks the launch of Borderlands 3 Designer’s Cut, the first DLC in the Season 2 Pass. This mode features new skill trees for the vault hunters, as well as a new gametype called Arm’s Race.
In addition, Season Pass 2 will also include the Final Forms cosmetics, which add new character models based on alternate-universe scenarios for the Vault Hunters.
The next-gen version of Borderlands 3 will feature new features, such as local 4-player splitscreen with your friends. This will not be available on last-gen consoles.
