Microsoft reported today that next-gen versions of Halo: The Master Chief Collection will support up to 120fps. The game will also be available for free to people who previously owned the game on consoles, or subscribed via Game Pass.
It's time to dust off the ol' Needler.

In a tweet, the official Xbox Twitter listed new features coming to the next-gen release of the Master Chief Collection. These features also included improvements to split-screen multiplayer, as well as support of up to 4K. This feature was exclusive to the Xbox Series X, however, and will not be available on the Series S.
The 120fps upgrade, however, would be available for both users of the Series X and Series S. The games would also support cross-generational play, so you can still play with your friends who haven’t upgraded yet.
Microsoft didn’t mention if any changes would come to copies of the game on PC.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is growing list of titles from the popular Halo Series. As the name implies, it was originally a collection of the mainline Halo games, all of which starred the eponymous Master Chief. However, since its PC release, it’s also come to include fan-favorite games that don’t feature the Spartan, such as Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST.
