Even if you haven’t done it before, you’ve probably heard all about the gacha addict’s rituals or superstitions to appease the Random Number God of probability when doing their draws in gacha games. Some of the most common “methods” include:

• Summoning circles, digital or actually drawn out
• Creating content of the character
  • Typically done by artists, or editors
  • May be terrible memes
• “Immunity” posts

SUMMONING CIRCLES

Besides worrying your superstitious family members, this is one of the most common and probably easiest one to do. Some opt to surround a summoning circle drawn on a sheet with merchandise of the relevant character, or simply Google “summoning circle” and slap a collection of .pngs and beg the cruel gods for your precious .png to come home.

If it resonates with enough people, then you can see your summoning circle be spread around on the interwebs and you can gain some notoriety with the degree of simping you have on display. Hopefully, you will indeed get the .png of your desires, and randos can reenact the Congratulations! scene with you as you cry many tears over your beloved 2D waifu or husbando.

CREATING CONTENT

Another form of catalyst, often done by artists, is drawing art of their desired target. Of course, it’s not limited to those who can churn out a Mona Lisa, as anyone who is willing to pick drawing up can offer their work to the gacha gods. What matters is that you’re sincere, after all. Rates don’t give a damn, but it feels good to give something.

Some may also go a step further and cosplay as their target character. Channel that energy, people!!! The desire sensor is real, and it can taste your fear. Be confident, be the character!!!*

“IMMUNITY” POSTS

These tend to surface during periods when gacha games have free pulls, be it used by jaded veterans or seasonal players.

You can circulate one of these for a brief round of socmed clout, upon which you should probably mute the post if it reaches anywhere near “popped off” numbers as people will share their best rolls without solicitation and you would probably salt yourself if Immunity Lily did not work for you.

CONCLUSION

Gacha game players are probably another breed of humans, very scary to normies who pay full priced console games which don’t have microtransactions, or those nearer to the boomer bracket. When all else fails, some would reach for the credit card, but at the end of the day, rates are rates, and those without guaranteed systems in place are extremely dangerous and should always be treated with caution.
