The opening movie for omnidirectional shooting game World Witches: United Front has gone live, by way of Kadokawa, ForwardWorks and Cave Interactive:
To recap, the game is described as an omnidirectional shooter where witches soar the sky, and as the player, you will fight alongside said witches. Witches are girls bestowed special powers to fight against an existential threat known as the Neuroi, an alien race with unknown origins. World Witches: United Front boasts an original story where series all-stars will converge, and as commander of the 509th Joint Fighter Wing unit, it is your task to deepen your bonds with the witches and get them up to snuff to be able to battle the Neuroi.
It is worth noting that this isn’t the Strike Witches franchise’s first rodeo on the mobile, with Strike Witches: Kiseki no Rondo being the most recent example. The game however had already shut down two years ago after having run of about three years. Things do look more hopeful for World Witches however, as they have gone back to the drawing board to make this a proper action game that the series deserves.
World Witches: United Front is scheduled for a Fall release in Japan for the smartphones. You are now able to pre-register by following the game on Twitter, adding it as a friend on LINE, or by e-mail. For more details head over to the official website.
