Hangar 13 released a new trailer for Mafia: Definitive Edition, showing more of the game’s re-done cutscenes. The trailer is aptly named “A Life Too Big To Ignore”.
Mafia: Definitive Edition takes place in 1930s Lost Heaven, Illinois. This takes place during the prohibition era- where alcohol smuggling was a risky way to make good money.
The trailer gives us a glimpse at the cliff notes for the game’s story. After a run-in with another gang, Tommy Salieri gets involved with the Salieri Crime Family. The once-simple cab driver is soon taking on big jobs for the mafia, with a lot more shooting than he would have done otherwise.
Much of the trailer is voice over by Don Salieri, explaining the importance of loyalty to the family. He promises a fast-track to the high life, after all. However, other characters also warn Tommy about the dangerous life he is getting into.
Considering the original Mafia came out in 2002, its impressive to see the efforts Hangar 13 went to to remake this game from the ground up.
Mafia: Definitive Edition launches September 25th. You can also read our first impressions on the game .
It can also be purchased as part of Mafia: Trilogy.
