Acer’s AOpen sub-brand released three new monitors, two of which we have already reviewed – the 27HC5RP and 24CL1Y – and last but not least, the 22CV1Q we’re going through here. As its name implies, it’s a 22-inch screen, a more standard option closer to the 24-inch offering than the 27-inch’s curved design. While it may be smaller, the 22CV1Q still can provide up to 75 Hz refresh rate! This 1920 x 1080 FHD display comes with Blue Light Shield and Flickerless technology, so even if it is smaller, it’s not “inferior” choice.
FHD + 75 Hz Refresh Rate
As mentioned, the Acer AOpen 22CV1Q is a 22-inch display with thin bezels all round to maximise the Full HD visuals for better detail and more accurate colours on screen. With both films and games, the visual quality is satisfactory for its size, so you can play your high definition games be it console or PC without a problem.
The display possesses up to 72% NTSC colour gamut to ensure bright, clear colours. It’s also a speedy one with no tearing, thanks to its 5ms response time and 75Hz refresh rate. It’s not the fastest, but if you’re not playing highly competitive games, it’ll function just fine for your viewing parties.
If you happen to have limited space even for this 22-inch monitor, it still keeps great image quality and colours from any angle up to 178 degrees, so you can adjust it as necessary and the images on screen will be just fine even from the side.
Eye care technology
The 22-inch AOpen offering isn’t an IPS panel, but it does instead offer Blue Light Shield to lessen the strain on the eyes, and Flickerless technology to reduce instances of screen flicker for a much smoother viewing experience. Thanks to the combination of these two technologies, utilizing the screen for long stretches at a time will not be as tiring as you might assume. The lack of IPS helps reduce the price of the monitor, a price to pay to be on a budget.
Limited connectivity
The lower price means the connectivity options on this monitor is limited as well, possessing one HDMI and VGA port each. It’s pretty much the bare essentials that you can get for this price wherever you’d want to use this monitor at. A VESA Mount is also provided so that users can adjust their viewing angle as they want.
