Ikki Tousen: Extra Burst to launch on 25 May 2020

Marvelous has just announced that its upcoming Ikki Tousen: Extra Burst game for the Android and iOS platforms will launch on 25 May 2020.

As we have previously reported, gameplay previews as well as the use of Live2D has been previewed! The game seems to be a battler a la similar games like Princess Connect, with the use of side-scrolling. A maximum of 12 characters can appear on screen. Naturally, they’ll have skills you can utilize to turn the tides of battle, with Live2D cut-ins.

For the uninitiated, Ikki Tousen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuji Shiozaki, which was first serialised in Comic Gum in April 2000 until August 2015. The plot revolves around a turf war between seven different high schools in the Kanto region. Among these students, there are a select few in possession of sacred beads which are actually magatama that carry the souls of warriors who fought during the Three Kingdoms Era in China. While bestowed the abilities of the souls they are tied to, these students may also either be blessed or cursed with the fates of said warriors from the past.
