Perhaps in a turn of events that isn’t too surprising due to the COVID-19 pandemic, KH: Dark Road, the Kingdom Hearts mobile spin-off that is to feature Xehanort, will be delayed. The official Twitter account released a brief notice, stating the following:
Due to current conditions, development for KINGDOM HEARTS DARK ROAD has been delayed. We apologize for the late update, as we were trying to find some means of making a Spring release. Another announcement will be coming in early June, so please stay tuned.
Dark Road would have been combined into the already existing mobile KH game in Union Cross, otherwise stylized as Union χ. The game is supposed to feature “exhilarating, high speed battles that depend on reflexes”, in which you flick your chosen cards to play. Players would be able to uncover Xehanort’s past in KH: Dark Road, which was originally due for Spring 2020 if it weren’t delayed.
This means there’ll still be time for you to play a little of Union Cross to be eligible for the bonuses once Dark Road releases. No new release timeframe has been given, so we’ll have to wait a couple of weeks to see what the June announcement is all about.
